Pathfinder's Place
*************
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Here you can read a sample of SPOOKS. When you've finished, just click the "start a new thread" button at the bottom of any page and leave your opinion about what you've read. We will be checking the comments regularly; your opinions are very important to us. And although it's not required, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave at least your initials or your screen name on your comment. It's kind of hard to thank "Anonymous". Thank you.
I know some of you have your copies of SPOOKS and wish to leave a comment. Other folks don't have copies of the book yet and are only reading the sample pages contained here, so I ask you, please restrain yourselves from saying anything about the ending of the book in your comment.
Jim
To the left, in the box labeled "Wiki Pages" are the titles of the main pages of this wiki. The pages with arrows in front of them have sub-pages under them that will appear when you open the first page. (There are 3 Book Review pages and 4 Chapter pages.)
Pages with just a dot are only one page. The tool-bar across the top is pretty much self-explanatory.
(Feb. 2008) SPOOKS AWARDED FIVE STARS BY THE MILITARY WRITER'S SOCIETY of AMERICA - To read the review by this august body of writers, go to the navigation bar at upper left and click "Book Reviews."
(March 15, 2008) SPOOKS goes on sale! Even though the first copies off the press were shipped to our Armed Forces PX's, there are still several ways you can get your copy of SPOOKS. You can order a copy from your favorite book store by asking for it by title and Author, James P. Slusser, Sr. and ISBN # 978-0-9771431-9-1 ; or you can order on-line from Leatherneck Publishing or Amazon. (just click on the blue link and you'll be taken to the site.) Leatherneck accepts all major credit cards and Pay Pal; and usually ships your book the same day they receive your order.

I bought this book while on holiday in US and found it to be a terrific read. Amusing, gripping, entertaining, gory, romantic and very moving - what else could one hope for?! Here in Scotland we were aware of the war only from news bulletins - the reality passed us by to a great extent. This account helps me realise what it must have been like. Well done, Jim. I would love to read more of your stuff!
